If material of a blatant advertising nature, or not suitable for family viewing, is posted anywhere in these forums, you will be banned permanently. Take you garbage elsewhere. It's not wanted here.

National Old Trails Road / Re: Welcome to the National Old Trails Road
« on: October 29, 2006, 11:02:54 AM »
Thanks for the link. For those that don't know, one of the historic trails that the National Old Trails Roads followed was the Santa Fe Trail.

Perhaps you can start threads discussing that section of the Road. Feel free to include maps, photos, etc. On my Route 66 site I have some photos of the section between La Vegas, NM and Santa Fe, including some of the commerative markers.

General Auto Trail Topics / Re: Auto trails

Thanks for the link. I like covered bridges... actually, I'm a physics teacher, so I like bridges in general. Every year I have my kids make truss bridges out of 7.5 inch coffee stirring sticks. Last year a team made one that held over 100 pounds and ultimately bent the metal support it was sitting on. The things only weigh a few grams. It's pretty amazing how strong a wooden bridge can be.

14 and 41, that's an interesting meeting.

Route 14 was the Black and Yellow Trail.

Do you know any of the history of that auto trail or its organizers?

Even if you can't make it to San Diego County, make sure to check out Blake's photos at the web link. They're really amazing.

I hate to dis Microsoft (well not really  ;D ), but I really encourage people to look at other browsers like Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, etc.

As a CSS site person, I found this quirksmode web page interesting.

Unfortunately it would be impossible to start an entire forum directory for every US highway. I encourage you to start a US 14 thread in "Other US Highways." If any thread becomes really big and popular, I could create a folder to allow multiple threads. Right now, I'm happy that someone is posting here besides me!  ;D

Evidently if you are using certain versions of Internet Explorer on certain operating systems, there is a problem with the page length and scrolling on the site. This is not a fault with the CSS on the site. It's a software glitch in IE. I already have over half a dozen hacks in my code to accomodate Internet Explorer. All other browsers such as Firefox, Netscape, Safari, etc. seem to view things fine. Internet Explorer 7 has been reported to fix the problem.

Welcome to all the Route 66 fans out there! If you've driven the Mother Road or have been just dreaming about it, this is a place to discuss Route 66 topics.

I've driven many sections of Route 66, and have made one full trip from Chicago to Santa Monica. I've covered the California section multiple times.

You may enjoy my Route 66 site called Parsa's Virtual Route 66 Roadtrip.
